My feet hurt. Mostly my heels, which I think have stress fractures from clear back in March, but yeah, my feet HURT.
I’m really tired/exhausted, too.
It’s just been a really busy day. It started around 6:45 when I woke up for no damn reason at all. I knew I had to leave around 7:30 or so to be at Marquaa’s house by 8:00.
WTF am I doing at Marquaa’s on a Saturday at 8:00am? Well, he needed help moving, and I figured I’d drag my pasty fat ass down to give him a hand. I thought that I could carry couch cushions and pillows and shit – y’know, the stuff that’s difficult and requires a certain degree of skill.
Well, as it turns out, all he needed help with was the lame, heavy, manual labor stuff like couches and shelves and washer and dryer stacked units that none of could figure out how to un-stack (yeah, that shit SUCKED)
So after 2 hours or so moving couches over second story railing and such, I zipped over to Mom’s a few blocks away to shower and change for my nephew Zach’s baptism. It was actually pretty OK – I walked into the church without any meteorological events, and I didn’t burst into flames stepping over the threshold. It’s all good. Apparently just because Jesus and I agreed to see other people doesn’t mean we can’t still be friends.
Spaghetti Factory for lunch, and I downed two glasses of water and two raspberry lemonades – it was triple-digit hot outside again. Well, no sooner had we finished lunch than Megan get’s word that our niece is now playing their arch-rival the Slammers over at the Cottonwood Heights ballpark. No time to change, so we ran straight there. Yeah, triple digits in a dress shirt and slacks ain’t much fun, but they won and that was awesome. Next game wasn’t until 4:30, so Megan and I decided to come home.
Which brings me to the photo above. Can I tell you how much I LOVE that our house has central air?! I swear it’s the only thing that got me through the day today! That picture? Yeah, that’s pretty much how I felt.
So we chilled and cooled down for awhile, watched Pit Boss, which is a show about this little person (midget is no longer the preferred nomenclature, in case you didn’t know) who runs a business saving Pit Bulls and fining them new homes.
Well, both Megan and I knew we had to get it done, so once we were sufficiently cool, we headed out to do the grocery shopping. Costco first, then home to unload. Then Wal-frickin’, then home to unload. Finally, Fresh Market, then home to unload one last time. Why three tripe? Well, we go to each store for different things. Cotsco for all the stuff we use in bulk, Wal-Frickin’ for most everything else, and Fresh Market for meat and produce. With the heat being what it was, we had to run home in between for all the perishables.
Anway. I’m home. I’m tired. My feet hurt.
I’m going to go snuggle my sweetheart and do my best to keep Lars from chewing on shit that ain’t his.
UPDATE: Megan has just informed me that “Slammers are NOT Attitude’s arch rivals, they were her old team and I really wanted to see her play against those who taught her and started with her”. So there. And if Megan hadn’t have had to rush off to work to handle some shit, we prolly would have stayed for the next game, so I’m grateful for central air AND Megan’s job. The end.
