This is the Duggar family, and Michelle just gave birth to their 18th frickin’ rugrat. The dad is Jim Bob (no shit, I’m not making this up!) and the mom is Michelle. Each of their spawn has a name starting with the letter “J” – a plan that probably wasn’t well-planned, as they’re now running out of names. It seems Michelle gets pregnant by simply blinking, and has been pregnant for the past 11 years. You do the math (18 kids divided by 11 years = exactly 0 dyas not preganant).
In the words of a wise old woman from Logan, “it’s a vagina, not a clown car!”

Megan, as well as JohnD and AAron have made some excellent comments (Megan in person, and the other two below). After more research, I have a great deal of respect for the Duggars, Jim Bob in particular. He somehow manages to support his family without government assistance, which is more than I can say for people in my close circle with WAY fewer kids. It also turns out that they’re a pretty loving family – everyone helps out quite a bit, and they really look out for each other. They’re a little too “Jesus-ey” for me, but I can appreciate their devotion to their faith and to each other.
In retrospect, this wasan “off-side” post – I judged someone else without even really taking the time to find out the whole story. Thanks to all of you for keeping me sharp and opening my eyes.

I am really late commenting on this one, but J… come on, dude. I love you, and think for the most part you do libertarianism proud. These people don’t look trashy, and if they want to have 100 kids and can provide a happy, loving home, more power to ‘em. I’d rather spend my bitching power on child abuse, or oppressive dicks like Robert Mugabe. Chill out and let’s just be happy that they’re not doing anything to really harm society as far as we know… that puts them ahead of a lot of people in my book.
